Quang Ninh Province will identify and locate 7 pristine islands and beaches to serve billionaire and ultra-luxury clients by the end of this year.

The identification of islands and beaches for the ultra-luxury clientele, which represents 1% of the global population, is one of the new tourism products that Quang Ninh Province aims to develop in order to achieve its target of welcoming 19 million visitors, including 3.5 million international tourists, this year.

Quang Ninh Province has tasked the Ha Long Bay Management Board with identifying islands and beaches for ultra-wealthy clients, with the survey implementation set to begin next week.

Ha Long Bay has approximately 200 sandy beaches at the foot of its limestone islands, but currently, only the beach on Ti Top Island is open to visitors, leading to overcrowding during peak seasons.

In March 2023, the Management Board proposed a plan to exploit the Trà Sản – Cống Đỏ beach cluster, which consists of 8 beaches ranging from 100 m² to 800 m², four of which can operate all day without being affected by tides. However, this plan has not yet been approved due to regulatory and planning constraints.

Ha Long Bay still has many pristine islands and beautiful beaches that can be developed for tourism.

During a meeting on October 10 regarding promotional solutions to boost tourism in the final months of 2024, Ms. Nguyễn Thị Hạnh, Vice Chairwoman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee, urgently requested the exploitation of three beaches: Soi Sim, Hang Cỏ, and Trinh Nữ on Ha Long Bay, and the development of an artistic performance product combined with light refreshments in some eligible caves on the Bay.

In the first nine months of 2024, Quang Ninh welcomed 15.6 million visitors, a 20% increase compared to the same period in 2023, achieving 98% of the nine-month growth target. Total tourism revenue is estimated at 37 trillion VND, a 39% increase year-on-year. The number of international visitors reached nearly 2.6 million, primarily from markets such as mainland China, South Korea, Taiwan, the USA, India, France, Australia, the UK, Germany, and Japan.

In the fourth quarter of this year, Quang Ninh tourism aims to welcome nearly 3.4 million visitors, including 909,000 international tourists.

In addition to these products, by the end of the year, Quang Ninh Province will announce new tourism products and major events, such as the Vietnam-Korea Grand Music Festival, the Halong Bay Heritage Marathon 2024, the Vietnam-China Cross-Border Running Race, the Binh Lieu Cultural Tourism Week, and the organization of the first tourism cruise experience on Bai Tu Long Bay in October.

Quang Ninh will also organize promotional delegations to promote tourism at industrial zones, large domestic economic groups, and foreign enterprises, particularly targeting potential markets in the south, such as Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Binh Duong, and Dong Nai.
